Even under your spotlight,

There's nothing really interesting nowadays to post about but i guess i'll say hi since i've not posted for quite a period of time. Watched Bolt with a couple of friends yesterday. The movie was worth watching, but i will not give any ratings. Overall, i enjoyed it. Seriously i think i ''enjoy'' every movie i watch. Hopefully i'm making a trip to the cinema for another time this year or many more trips cos there are quite a lot of interesting movies which are suitable for us and are opening during this period of time, but i will not bother to name any. Anyway i finished reading Twilight's first three books. It was fantastic, seems as i was also in the story, watching the whole thing live, and i could picture it all in my head. I'm preparing to read my last book, and can't wait for Midnight Sun to be finished. It would be interesting to read in Edward's point of view. Anyway thanks Beatrice for providing that fast link to the page of Stephenie Meyer's twilight blog although i had already read the draft about a few months ago, but it was again thrilling to reread it.About the trip to Adelaide, I'll rather not talk about it in a detailed manner but it wouldn't be fun to not share this wonderful experience. And seriously it is WONDERFUL. I have to confess, i actually thought that that was a straight educational trip but i had more than that there. Hope you don't mind that i'm deleting my formal post about the trip:P I have to admit, i miss Australia a lot. Especially the bunkhouse, the rides in the minibus, where i had some strange sleeping positions and the people i met there. The motel stay there was so-so, but not as fun as staying in the bunkhouse. I'm still a bit blurry about the adjustment of the weather and time around here. On the first day, the plane ride was fun. We went to the Murray River, and had Subway sandwiches. There was a whole hoard of flies flying around and buzzing into our ears, and it was real irritating. We also played at the playground there and played catching. I bumped my head under a bridge while playing and it hurt, and it swelled a bit but it was ok after a while. We then went to the Bunkhouse, while we slept on the bus. We got allocated to a house with the drivers and we made a lot of noise during the past few days which resulted in many severe scoldings. All the P5 girls were in one room. There were 5 double decker beds. The beds were also really bouncy and comfortable. For me, i slept on top and Qi En slept on the lower deck. Some of my hair got stuck on the stairs and was pulled out. Ouch. We had a barbecue for dinner and it was delicious. Then followed the bat tour, which was creepy, but we got to see a dead bat and a real live possum! Then it was sleep time. On the second day, after breakfast, we went to Naracoorte Primary School. I got to meet my buddies, whom i had given up the hope of receiving their email. They're thirteen. Turns out there was some technical glitches and the emails failed to reach me. We had fun touring their school, weaving frogs, having lunch, playing dodgeball, basketball and chatting. We even had water bottles as gifts! My buddies signed my bottle. Next we went to another school, Naracoorte South Primary School. We also had fun painting some aboriginal animals. Oh did i mention, we also did a presentation on the hornbills project and it was scary at first, but i'm glad i didn't get tongue-tied. We also had some cup noodles on some nights as the dinner wasn't exactly what we expected them to be and were not filling. There was also kangaroos each night. There was also joeys. There was also a frog talk that day. Dinner was pizza. I don't know which day was it that a man, Frank, taught us to sing ''Waltzing Matilda'' and another man played the ''didgeree-doo, which some people were quick in picking up the skill to play this particular instrument. On the third day, we visited the fossil caves, and even crawled through the wet caves, which was really small and hard to slip through. It was uberly fun. We had lunch at a cafe, and i was classified as a laughing freak cause i was like somewhat a maniac, laughing at Chris' every move. After that, we went back to the bunkhouse and we made a lot of noise again, and got scolded. I don't know when was it when we went to a kid's disco. All of us couldn't get over the limbo game at the disco and played it at the bunkhouse. I think i have a memory loss, cause i can't seem to remember which day i did many things. Then it was the night activity, baking! Then we had some sort of game where you would pick a slip of paper with a name of somebody in writing. Some people tried to sabotage each other into playing the game. I was one victim thanks to Junxiang and Conrad, and picked Madonna. It was fun i guess. The next day, we went to Mount Gambier. The coastal view was beautiful. Then we had lunch, fish and chips. There was a lot of flies, you should have guessed, due to the fish. Then we went to the display of birds. There was a lot of bones of birds, and half necked birds which died in accidents, which creeped me out. After that there was lasagna for dinner and night activities. Anyway we had to think of something to thank Decima, our planner and i almost got emotional cos she was so nice to us. We also had to pack as it was our last day at the bunkhouse. As i had bought quite a lot of chocolates and a pack of dried apricotsxD, I had a hard time trying to squeeze my luggage close. The following day, we had a loooooonng trip to Adelaide, as currently we were in Naracoorte. Then we went to Hahndorf for lunch, which was at Macdonald's. Then we went for shopping! I bought a tyre made notebook, and got a free pencil. I don't remember buying anything else. Oh yea, we also bought presents for Chris as it was her birthday a few days later. After that we went to a strawberry farm. We had to pay a price to go in, uhh $3.50 i think, and could pluck and eat as many as we wanted. They were delicious and very sweet. And here i am saying sweet, which is very sweet. Some of my strawberries got really wet and ''bled'' red blood or rather juice. We were allocated to rooms at the Sands Motel. I got to stay with Qi en in one room, while the other girls stayed in one family room as there were 5 girls there. We had dinner at another hotel where we got scolded AGAIN because of some nonsense we were talking about with two of the p6s. We had chicken or beef schnitzels for dinner and ice cream for dessert, which was nice. Then went back to the motel and had a shower, and watched television in our room, ''School Of Rock'' After that we went to sleep. The next day, apparently the last day, we had cornflakes with cold milk which tasted sour and strange. Then we went downstairs to report to out teachers, with our luggages. I was sad to leave too. We went for shopping later in the day. I didn't really buy anything cause i didn't see anything i liked. But i did buy things at the airport, quite a lot of keychains and a wooden boomerang. Then Qi en and I also bought some ham and cheese sandwiches to eat. After that we boarded the plane. Unluckily, I got a seat between Kerwei and Conrad. That plane ride home was terrible not because if the two boys but because i almost puked. When we landed, i felt like kissing the ground. Then we discussed about the follow up project which we did at Salihan's(sorry if i spelled your name wrongly) house earlier this Thursday. Then we said our goodbyes and went home. I went to have dinner with my family. Boy, the food here really tastes a whole lot different to Australia's food. That's FINALLY the end of my long long post. This comes back to where i am now, missing the trip and the people. Hey i can't wait to meet my trip friends back at school. I certainly won't forget them or this trip either for a long time, or maybe even for eternity? I don't know. I'm really tired so i'll just end it here. Good-bye. Theng Yi |
